2023 Battle of Pensacola Commemoration and

Galvez Day Celebration


This two day event will take place on Sunday, May 7 and Monday, May 8, 2023 in downtown Pensacola, Florida.


Planned events for May 7 include:

Patriot Grave Marking Ceremony

Wreath Laying

Evening Banquet to commemorate the Battle of Pensacola


On May 8, the Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard will once again present the opening procession for the Galvez Day Celebration sponsored by the Pensacola Heritage Foundation.


On May 8th the Color Guard units will muster at 09:30 AM at Fort George and march down Palafox Street  to one of the largest monuments in the United States to General Bernardo de Galvez  as the opening ceremony of Pensacola‚Äôs Galvez Day celebration.


All participating Color Guard Units  will receive a BATTLE OF PENSACOLA FLAG STREAMER.

Past Events



 On May 6, a multi-state SAR color guard unit participated in the Galvez Day celebration organized by the Pensacola Heritage Foundation.  Pictures from the event will be posted soon.
