Pensacola Chapter Programs and Projects

Below are brief descriptions of the variety of programs that the Pensacola Chapter SAR conducts.  Please check out the Programs pages for more information!

Battle of Pensacola Commemoration

Every year, the Pensacola Chapter Sons of the American Revolution assists the Pensacola Heritage Foundation with Pensacola's Galvez Day Celebration. This event celebrates the victory of General Bernardo de Galvez over the British during the American Revolution.

250 by the 250th Flag Recognition

As part of our Flag Recognition Program, the Pensacola Chapter has set a goal of recognizing 250 individuals, businesses, and organizations for their patriotic display of the American Revolution. Our goal is to do all 250 recognitions prior to America's 250th Birthday on July 4, 2026!

Community Recognition

As part of our efforts to promote patriotism throughout the community, the Sons of the American Revolution has several Community Recognition programs including Good Citizenship in the Elementary Schools, JROTC, Eagle Scout, and our annual First Responders Awards recognizing those First Responders in our community who have gone above and beyond in the line of duty.

Wreaths Across America

Since 2013, the Pensacola Chapter has supported and participated in Wreaths Across American at Barrancas National Cemetery onboard NAS Pensacola. Each year, our chapter and friends of the chapter sponsor wreaths and participate in the wreath laying in December.

Educational Programs

The Pensacola Chapter sponsors several youth educational programs that are part of the mission of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution. Our goal is to continue to foster interest in the American Revolution at all levels of youth education.

Color Guard

The Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard is the most visible face of the SAR. Color Guards participate in parades, ceremonies such as new citizen swearing in, presentation of colors at ball games, and of course - Parades!
